Glass bangles are mostly produced in only one Indian city called Firozabad in North India. Bangles that were made from plastic started replacing the glass bangles. Glass bangles are usually smooth, with some texture or set with stones. However, in many cultures, especially in the Arabian Peninsula and in South Asia, bangles have evolved into various types in which different ones are used at different occasions. In India, Hyderabad has a historic market for bangles named the Laad Bazaar. In Pakistan, glass bangles are almost all produced in Hyderabad, Pakistan. Glass bangles are found in many colors. Firstly we talked about the cut of the stone. Now finding a good quality bright green tourmaline with this cut is not impossible to find but can be tricky so we decided that custom cutting was the way forward. We custom cut the green tourmaline from a larger cushion stone to create the look. We combined the chequer board facetted cut on top but with a more square proportioned shape rather than oval. The lapidaries squared up the proportions and then facetted the top of the stone. This creating a square cushion shape with a facetted top! Donna felt a straight sided square stone would be a little harsh so decided that she would like to have the stone with softened corners. The initial stone was 1.72cts and ended up at 1.05ct. After being cut gemstone it is difficult. We searched for a green tourmaline of the right colour that could be cut to shape. The twist ring is simple in style holds the tourmaline for a modern design. Study the variety of diamond shapes online to see which one you like most. Make sure you understand the difference between karats and carats before shopping for diamonds. Cubic zirconium looks like a real diamond, but is not. A karat measures the purity of gold. 24k is the purest gold. A carat measures fine gemstones and the weight of diamonds. Each has its own unique brilliance. Larger diamonds, such as those on diamond engagement rings, will usually carry a greater weight in carats than smaller stones, such as those found in diamond tennis bracelets. Look for diamond fine jewelry in which the diamond itself has a carat weight. Diamonds may be round brilliant, oval, tiffany, marquise, pear-shaped, heart-shaped, cushion cut , emerald cut, trilliant, radiant, or princess cut. Make sure the diamond is not cubic zirconium. |
