Bangles – tradition with fashion

To represent tradition with fashion bangles are the best option. The importance attached to bangles by a married woman is almost paranoic. Normally, a bangle worn by people around the world is simply an inflexible piece of jewelry worn around the wrist.

The bangles are made in special techniques using manpower and traditional hand artwork to make finest quality of products. They are worn after marriage to signify matrimony. The word is derived from a Hindi word BUNGRI. They are circular in shape. Unlike bracelets bangles are not flexible. Gold, Silver, Platinum, Copper, Bronze, Glass, lac, Wood, Plastic these numerous precious and non precious materials are used for making of bangles.

Cut of the stone

Firstly we talked about the cut of the stone. Now finding a good quality bright green tourmaline with this cut is not impossible to find but can be tricky so we decided that custom cutting was the way forward. We custom cut the green tourmaline from a larger cushion stone to create the look. We combined the chequer board facetted cut on top but with a more square proportioned shape rather than oval.

The lapidaries squared up the proportions and then facetted the top of the stone. This creating a square cushion shape with a facetted top! Donna felt a straight sided square stone would be a little harsh so decided that she would like to have the stone with softened corners. The initial stone was 1.72cts and ended up at 1.05ct. After being cut gemstone it is difficult. We searched for a green tourmaline of the right colour that could be cut to shape. The twist ring is simple in style holds the tourmaline for a modern design.

Silver jewellery should be given extra care

Silver jewellery is not expensive. Silver Jewellery has a textured or satin finish so it should be given more care. Do not keep them in contact with oxidized Jewellery, pearls or absorbent stones. Before packing don’t forget to dry your wet jewellery. The finishes are achieved with lots of care and it should be maintained accordingly. With clean soft cloth polish your jewellery.

To keep the jewels tarnish free, you can use silica gel packs to keep dry, do not always use body scents on them directly. You can also soak them in warm soap water and use a soft bristled brush. Often a green or black residue is formed on large silver jewels due to the body’s chemicals. But they can be cleaned easily. Remember to wear your silver Jewellery as much as possible because Wearing them actually keeps them polished and less tarnished. A rinse-off liquid cleaner is best for tarnish to clean your ornaments.
